International Archery Festival "Archery Tradition 2018"
On August 18-19, 2018, the international archery festival "Archery Tradition 2018" was held at the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv ("Pyrogovo" museum).
This festival-tournament is organized for the third time by the Ukrainian representative of the World Federation of Traditional Archery (WTAF).
The tournament was held in the most beautiful open-air National Museum "Pirogovo". The Museum of Folk Architecture and Life is a real village in the city of Kyiv, a huge territory, many different locations in the historical regions of Ukraine, villages of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The festival took place in the form of a historical open-air camp. Historical weapons (bows), as well as costumes of festival participants, are made in the style of different eras. A unique ethnic atmosphere and musical accompaniment was created by the special guest of "Archery Tradition 2018", the master of playing the bagpipe Oleksii Shkuropatskyi.
More than 100 archers from 16 countries of the world took part in the archery tournament.
These are archers from different parts of Ukraine, as well as the USA, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Great Britain, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Belarus, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania, Uzbekistan.
A tournament of this scale, organized by WTAF Ukraine, is held annually.
A unique feature of this festival was the opportunity to test yourself in all types of traditional archery at one tournament, the like of which has no analogues in the world. There were representatives of Turkish, Korean, English, American shooting disciplines, as well as classic bench shooting and dynamic shooting at moving targets
Окрім змагань із лучної стрільби цього року було багато цікавих заходів, а саме семінари, присвячені лучним традиціям різних країн світу. Спікерами семінарів виступили майстри та чемпіони США, Греції, Німеччини, запрошені президентом WTAF Ukraine Юрієм Трофімовим. Одним із них був шановний гість із США Лукас Новотній, багаторазовий чемпіон світу з кінно-лучної стрільби та відомий лучний майстер. Лукас приїхав швидше не змагатися, а для того, щоби поділитися своїм багаторічним досвідом мистецтва стрільби з лука.
Компанія “Kadysbows” також брала активну участь у змаганнях та виступила спонсором та партнером “Archery Tradition 2018”.
З луками від “Kadysbows” багато учасників зайняли призові місця та отримали пам'ятні призи від компанії у вигляді традиційних луків ручної роботи від майстра Сергія Толочка.
Фестиваль зі стрільби з лука Archery Tradition 2018 об'єднав понад 100 однодумців лучного світу з 16 країн. Це справді був міжнародний фестиваль!
Чудові два дні, де всі учасники та гості фестивалю отримали колосальний обмін досвідом, незабутні враження, позитивні емоції, задоволення від спілкування зі старими друзями та від знайомства з новими цікавими людьми. І це все на тлі чудових краєвидів природи Національного музею!
Ми висловлюємо величезну подяку організаторам фестивалю “Archery Tradition 2018”: представництву WTAF в Україні, всій команді та зокрема президенту федерації Юрію Трофімову за колосальну працю, а також усім учасникам та гостям фестивалю за чудове свято та бурю емоцій!
